CES 2011 doesn't officially start until Thursday, January 6th, but that didn't stop several companies from showcasing some of their latest toys at press events starting on Tuesday night. The team from NotebookReview.com was there to see what the pre-show events had to offer, and we picked a few of our favorite finds.

Unfortunately all the Fusion notebooks looks crappy so far . Hopefully Dell will bring a more quality looking one in 13inch. The Vostro V130 case could meet my needs .

What kind of amazing exterior/design did you expect for netbooks and notebooks priced in the $300-$600 range?

I just had the chance to mess with the Lenovo ThinkPad X120e with AMD Zacate E-240 APU and that netbook/notebook is will have an MSRP of approximately $350. There will also be a configuration with the E-350 APU for a little more, but we're talking about netbook/budget notebook replacements with better battery life and MUCH better video performance.

I'm not exactly sure why the first batch of these AMD laptops resulted in a mad emoticon. In any case, if the initial press briefings are any indication, we'll be seeing a lot of these Brazos-based notebooks and netbooks in 2011 so there might be something that looks better to you.

I might too biased, but if there is the Vostro V130 for only $429, which is sturdy and has stylish aluminum case with excellent cooling system, than I might can expect something better than these cheap plastic ones . If I wrong I am sorry about the comment, but so far I won't buy neither one.
Otherwise itself the Fusion is a pretty awesome thing ;)!

The X120e looks fantastic for the price, and the HP DM1z doesn't look bad either. The X120e doesn't look like a budget computer at all, the HP DM1z does, but it doesn't look necessarily bad.

Haven't posted here in over a year, whew.

AMD have just redeem themselves to me. FINALLY we get a netbook with good performance for it's size, great video performance, and great battery life. I'm so glad I waited it out on netbooks.

The Sony and Lenovo Fusion-books look very nice. The Vostro V130 has a lot of faults (miniature battery and lack of ports IIRC) but it certainly is an attractive machine.
