The Asus Zenbook Ux51Vz has already been reviewed by Notebook Review, the previous model offered the same keyboard and touchpad design. So instead of going over all of that information again, we simply linked to our previous review. Here is the review if you are interested: Asus ZenBook UX51V

This is a good spec. laptop - but for me at that price point I would want a 17" display to take advantage of all that screen resolution. Although the video GPU is pretty good, at that price I would expect even better. It's also rather overpriced at $2400 (£1550). To put it in perspective, my Samsung laptop is almost identical except that it has a bigger 17" screen, lower (900 x 1600) resolution and a non SSD 1Tb hard drive. It was £900 ($1400)

that's not identical. Dual SSD makes a huge difference, the screen resolution is triple yours, weight and other key aspects plus the GPU is unmatched by that samsung laptop of yours. I think you would have gotten a better deal going with mac book pro for that $1400

A $2,000 premium ultraportable PC released in November 2013 that still has Ivy Bridge and an Ivy Bridge-esque four hours of battery life? Is this some sort of sick joke from Asus? No Haswell, no deal.

Also, I noticed in the video that it ships with Win 8.0, not 8.1. If you're going to be buying a premium PC nowadays, I'd suggest one with 8.1 straight from the factory, to make sure that the machine's drivers will play nicely with 8.1. Some manufacturers have made sure that their machines upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1 without issues (Sony), but that's not necessarily the case (Samsung), and I'd hate to drop two grand on a machine after 8.1's release to find out that it doesn't work well when I upgrade to 8.1.

Is there any news when the Haswell refresh for the UX51 will be out? It's already close to Christmas!
