Asus just announced two new notebooks, the 14.1” N81VP and 15.4” N51Tp, which both take advantage of the new ATI 4600 graphics chipset. The new ATI 4600 chipset supports full 1080p video decoding and support for Microsoft DirectX 10.1. Both of these notebooks come with the Super Hybrid Engine to help preserve battery life, fast booting Express Gate, and SmartLogon facial recognition software.

Great news, the HD 4600 is an awesome card and I have high expectations for the notebook version. I have two HD 4670 512MB in my desktop. One is slightly slower than a notebook 8800M-GTX/9800M-GT.

High core clocks though don't bode well for a mobile version, but hopefully it'll be a solid performer.

So will we soon hear news of them releasing 17" notebooks with the 4800 cards? There is the 17" MSI GT725/727 with a HD4850 but I'd like some competition as well.

Seems 5 Model Numbers for the Asus N51:

    N51-A
    N51-Te
    N51-Tp
    N51-Vf
    N51-Ve

I'm guessing they will appear online fairly soon.

Asus is getting these 4xxx cards quickly on the market for their laptops. Good move.
