I don't think a dual-boot Android-and-Windows device is a particularly good idea, but I would rather have seen it wither on the vine because of a lack of customer interest instead of seeing it pulled by the OEM because of pressure from Microsoft and Google themselves.

I see how it can be very useful for people who develop on both platforms, but I must agree with Mitlov.
Both platforms are more than capable for day to day tasks (email, web browsing, music, videos, etc.) and in the end this would only confuse the average users.
Why have a duplicate, when one environment is already enough?

And Asus's dual-boot setup is particularly bad. It's first and foremost an Android device--it can operate Android docked or undocked, but can only operate Windows docked. So it sucks as an Android device because it's brutally expensive (I think over $1000). And it sucks as a Windows device because it's convertible hardware yet can't operate as a Windows device when separated...even though Windows 8.1 is designed to be useful in a slate format.
