    I just wanted to quote that. also I believe that the iSlate will not have a keyboard. which means it's really not a tablet, tablets are ment to be both.

    so basically apple is going to sell us a massive phone... I think I'd rather have an iPhone.

    I still think in the long run this device will be a flop.

    So far I've heard those laptops with both keyboard and touchscreen are called as hybrids or convertibles and those few tablet pc's that don't have keyboard were just tablets. However for Joe Average "tablet pc" usually means regular laptop with swiveling touchscreen since they haven't seen other.

    Apple's new product probably will be first time they experience such thing without keyboard: new and innovative, as those things from Apple always are ;)

    Keyboard less tablet PCs are usually known as slates, whereas the more conventional sort are convertibles.

    Slates are used fairly often in business settings as well, as some models have a docking station that allows conversion for use as a desktop machine.
