Amidst all of the recent Apple desktop refreshes, they quietly increased the speed of the mid-range 15” MacBook Pro from 2.53 to 2.66GHz. Apple also gives users an upgrade path to go from the 2.66Ghz processor to the 2.93Ghz previously reserved for the 17” MacBook pro. Price stays the same at $2,499 with the option to upgrade the processor being $300.

Why is this newsworthy? I didn't see any articles when Sony started using the 2.66GHz and 2.93Ghz CPUs.

This probably showed up as some important news because yesterday their site showed that it was being updated: that always makes apple nerds giggle like schoo girls.

330 MHz doesn't seem like much motivation to spend $300.

    *Cameras swarm the scene*
Camera Lady: "So Steve how did you DO that!?"
Steve: Well actually.. You see Linda.. I care about the customers of Apple which is why I created this innovative product called the iPicker.
Not only can you pick your nose but you can rub your belly and eat a cream cheese sandwich at the same time while petting a tiger who is giving birth to a koala!
