Apple last week updated its iBook line of notebooks in preparation for sales for the holiday season. The processor speed was bumped up for each iBook and the price of the entry-level iBook with a 1.2GHz chip, DVD/CD-Burner combo drive and 12-inch screen was dropped to $999 from $1099. The midrange iBook comes with a 1.33GHz chip, combo drive and 14-inch screen and costs $1,299. Finally, the top tier iBook retails at $1,499 and can burn both DVDs and CDs (Apple calls it their "SuperDrive").
