Is the RAM upgradable?
The cheapest model interests me the most with the SSD. I would like to upgrade the RAM and then install either Xp Professional or Vista Business. I have a licience for both. Any idea how Vista would run on a machine like this? -
512MB is soldered onboard and there is one more slot.
The 1GB version has 512MB in the removable slot and the 512MB version has the slot free. I heard it is hard to reach and you need to take the whole thing apart to get to the slot. -
Do you guys know anything about release dates?
-
Sorry, all Acer have said is "coming soon". Do Acer have to copy every Asus movement?
-
Asus has been bad about giving updates of the release Eee models especially for Europe. Acer is doing the same so that is why Jackle said Acer is copying the Asus's movements.
The Acer One is a netbook and Asus essentially made the first netbook with the Eee (not counting the OLPC and Classroom stuff) so many people do feel others are copying and the Eees are the original product. I think they are just the same product category. They dont even look alike. Just the same size Intel chip inside. -
512MB soldered ? that`s dumb.
