    Acer Updates Aspire One Netbook

    Acer today announced an updated version of its popular Aspire One netbook. The Aspire One AO532h has the new Intel Atom N450 processor and integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics. The AO532h features Windows 7 Starter Edition, a 10.1-inch display, and weighs 2.76 lbs. There are two battery options - a six-cell 4400mAh and 5600mAh version, good for 8 and 10 hours of life respectively. The AO532h is available in three colors - Onyx Blue, Garnet Red, and Silver Matrix, and will be available this month for $299.99.

    It still only has 1GB ram.

    Sunday I saw a HP netbook in the paper for $399 with 4GB ram.

    Are you sure about that 4GB RAM part? It might not have been a netbook, or it could have been a typo. I have not seen any netbooks shipped with more than 1GB of RAM.

    it also had windows 7, my eyes popped open, I read it a few times to make sure.

    The Asus Eee 1201N comes with 2GB standard. Although since it has the dual core Atom 330, there's the usual crowd arguing the legitimacy of its netbook status. :p

    And eww, Windows 7 Starter. I'd rather use DOS. >_<

    Drat!! I just bought one Cyber Monday. Same price & big battery but N280.

    Oh well. I bought it to be a beater anyway.

    You're not missing anything performance-wise, the N450 is no faster than the N280. See here:
