I am definitely liking the looks of these TravelMates. They would have been competing with my money that went to HP for my ProBook 5310m had they been out a month ago. This is what the 13.3" version has:
Edit: All of them have great keyboard layouts as well.

Somehow I doubt they have as good of keyboard feel and build quality as the HP though.

These look like nice solid machines. I like the sleek and clean business look. They seem rather pricey though - with that money, you could get a better-specced Thinkpad X200, or with a bit more, an X200s with a nice 1440x900 screen.

Also, somehow, they remind me of Dell's Latitude E-series, but thinner.

They are indeed pricey, also compared to HP's ProBook 5310m. If they were $100 lighter they would be easier to buy. Then again the market for these machines is business . . . there are not too many competitors at this price point.

I think a business notebook for less then 1 grand is a damn good deal. There are only a couple (Pro book, Vostro) and this just makes things even better.

If i had to choose today for a good business notebook on the go, it would be a fight between the Probook and this one.

Well, there are all the Latitude E-series machines, all the SL-, X-, and T-series Thinkpads except the X301 and T400s, and occasionally some Elitebooks as well...

The words business-notebooks and Acer don't go in the same sentence.

And will business purchasers be queuing up to buy notebooks with wide widescreen displays?

    Thinkpad, Dell latitude/Precision/ HP elitebook....

Acer shouldn't even be considered in the first place when people want to buy quality business laptops.
