When do you suppose they are going to start selling this laptop?

If I had to guess, before June.
-
Any guesses on the pricing? Something tells me it will fall between $1600 to $1900.

Metamorphical Good computer user
I guess the black and white look is going to rule for the next while. I'm already getting bored with this current trend. Still it looks nice, I look forward to seeing these in store where I can mess with them in person.
-
i like the specs but the look are bleh...
i think my 5672 still looks better although a bit aged -
I really like the look of this laptop, and the 8600GT as opposed to the weaker 8600GS is a nice addition in the 15.4" form factor as well.
-
nice look to it.
-
-
i expected more from BMW design.... i guess its a bit of a let down
-
Do you know if it will come with fat32 or new vista fs? I hate to see it with Fat32 again.
-
well another one with the same old design of black and white
reminds me of the toshiba A205 acctually
intrestingly it has the same GPU as the Asus G1 and G2
which is the 8600GT
and along with 200GB hdd it isnt that bad of a deal either
but i dont think they would come to sale as soon as one would like though -
-
200 GBs though available in 5400 rpm i reckon that acer will ship the 4200rpm version which is quite slow but not that bad either
as of now the tech specs dont seems too clear or well defined -
Hmm...but IMO it looks old fashioned notebook....looks like toshiba A70/75 series and a bit bulky as well.
-
it's on sale here on a german site

What kind of build quality do Acer notebooks have? Or more specifically, what do you think the build quality is like, mainly a notebook that can't stand any moving around or built rather tough?
-
The picture doesn't do it justice. Go to Acer's website to see a much better one. Glad to see it's using 8600M GT. But 1280X800? I'd like to see that resolution disapear from the market altogether. Does anyone actually prefer that size? No wander Sony put only 64MB of dedicated VRAM on the 8400M on the FZ. With only 1280X800 it will probably run all games fine with such a low resolution. 1650X1050 or even 1920X1200, now we're talking a good display.
Edit: Correction, it's 256MB dedicated on the 8400M GT on the Sony FZ. They told me 64 when I called them, but the second time I called they gave the correct information. -

the specs for us just search google products it's available here -
I'd seriously be considering this laptop if it wasn't for the screen. The HD-DVD seems cool, but why would you need it with only 1280x800 max pixels. If i could get an asus g2-s with a WUXGA lcd for a similar price (even if it means losing the HD-DVD) why shouldn't I?
-
I think all the notebook makers are working together to always keep one important spec off their notebooks. With this one its the rez 1280 X 800.....same with the sony.
With the Asus G1s it is the sorry speakers....and no HD drive
etc...etc...etc....
It is really pissing me off -
Guys, wait few weeks till these things get more mature drivers ..etc, and with DDR 800.
-
Well I suppose the name and design are a suitable marriage...
But not for me. Too "rounded and curvy" for my liking -
nice notebook, going to buy!
