Great Review, good to hear a lot of positive things about an Acer machine!!!!

Seems like good bang for the buck, I guess time will tell.

    will keep you updated.

so far ive never been this happy with an acer machine. I was looking for a laptop that just did what i wanted it to do with no frilly bits that i would never use.
the 5735 ticked all the right boxes, and it was cheap.
and CHAZ was correct the best CPU i could find in this unit is the Pentium T3400 with the chipset installed :(
but the 5735z is a good laptop and im well happy :D

Hi! Two weeks ago I was thinking whether to buy Acer 6930g, 5735z, or Lenovo N500-they were all for the same price, give or take 10 £...I was almost 99% sure I will buy 6930g, but I went to some stores to try how both Acer's laptops "feel" and I was disappointed to see that keyboards were quite flimsy, with significant amount of flex in various area...So, I decided to go with Lenovo N500 and that machine is so firm, it has even better, sturdier keyboard than my Thinkpad R61e...If, only Acer paid a little bit more attention to quality of keyboard area...

I agree to an extent. I noticed that the Acer 5735Z on display at Best Buy when I went to get mine had a much better keyboard. The keys were thicker plastic and it was very solid. In comparison, mine flexes, the keys are much thinner, and the key travel is shorter; overall the tactile feedback is lacking versus the floor model's.

I owned an Acer TravelMate laptop back in 2005 and that had a very good keyboard . . . better than this Aspire 5735Z's.

well so far ive run COD 1, 4, Silent hunter 3, Sniper Elite.and a couple of the new Micro$oft Flight Sim's,, all run with no trouble.but i got hooked on the first COD again :( wife not happy ).
it helps if you get the extra ram taking the laptop from 3gb to 4gb.just installed vista ultimate and it runs sweet.with all the media software.

Acer looks to make laptop around this body now.

    I own a similar one 5378g.
could someone direct me to a disassembly guide?
