Still going with my W520, but if this had a decent set resolution then this would be a nice budget buy for me

I really don't understand why the 15-inch model doesn't at least have one or two configurations with screens that have a 1600x900 or 1920x1080 resolution.

I can forgive 1366x768 on a 13-inch or even a 14-inch notebook, but 15-inch laptops should have optional higher-resolution screens.

I could live w/ the resolution if the screen looks good. Horrible contrast, very crappy viewing angles, and a 60% gamut screen kills a potentially solid laptop.

A bit of an older review in the link but to summarize if you're looking for above 60% gamut, your options are very few. Throw in viewing angle and you get maybe 5 options for non TN panels currently.

Unless you're doing color sensitive work, IMO even at 56%, my Acer 6920G is pretty decent for a TN panel and works just fine for most purposes.

3830 has cpu has serious throttling issues that Acer hasnt fixed. This may make gaming impossible. Also battery cant be removed.

    :(
