Laptop liquid cooling anyone? it has the space for a mini cooler
I suppose i can agree with people not liking the fact that this doesn't have SLI, at native, even this thing can be pulled down a bit from maxed out games (crysis there for example) but i would love to see this running gta, then someone tell me the PCU usage hehe.

Nice review and info
No point in me upgrading to either the 9820 or 9850, if only both were combined together it would be worthy imo (Not sure about 18.4in screen though). I want i7 and sli together, guess I'll wait for the next release. -
It is very unlikely for the i7 and sli to be in the same laptop; the power requirements would be insane (130w cpu and another 130w for sli? i dont think so..), and the heat generated? there is already no more room in the lappy with the i7 since it takes up so much space just with its heatsinks.. and the temps are already VERY high..
And about the looks lordvader.. i like plain and simple laptops, that dont scream look at me! Thats a good thing for me actually and probably for many clevo fans.. I just find my M17 too shiny.. just wish clevo had a backlit keyboard.. that is getting pretty essential these days.. -

I'm still waiting for more info on the fan noise, and the temps seem pretty high. But then again, this is a 130W i7, so what was expected? I just wish someone would answer the questions asked here and in the forums.
Either way, the NP9280 is seriously THICK (2.35"), and for a 17", it weighs more than the Asus W90Vp. Some of these gaming notebooks are definitely getting chunky with PSU's to boot. I know the i7 needs room to breathe, but WHEW.....
Here is a short compilation of dimensions to put these in perspective:
NP9850.......................17.3 x 11.75 x 1.7 @ 12.50lbs
M17x.........................16.0 x 12.65 x 2.02-2.11 @ 11.68lbs
NP9280.......................15.5 x 11.75 x 2.35 @ 11.55lbs
Asus W90Vp...................17.4 x 12.91 x 2.48 @ 11.46lbs
OCZ Whitebook................15.5 X 11.75 X 1.75 @ 9.5lbs
NP5797.......................15.6 X 11.5 X 1-1.8 @ 8.35lbs
MSI GX720/GT725 (ID1/ID2)....15.55 X 11 X 1.05-1.37 @ 7.3lbs
Macbook Pro 17...............15.5 X 10.5 X 1.0 @ 6.6lbs -
I know HW RAID is rare in laptops but so are desktop CPUs.
I considering a new workstation lappy and I'd prefer a zippy raid 0 setup to a still expensive SSD setup (i know: back up everything on raid...)

So whats with the northbridge?.. and could it really have hardware raid?
-
I wrote to the seller im going to buy the system at and got this answer:
This notebook has HARDWARE RAID!
The southbridge is under the same two heatsinks that cool the cpu and ram and also some other chips.
The i7 extreme 965 and 975 are NOT overclockable via BIOS (or setfsb since i7 doesnt really have fsb) (heat concerns probably?).
The finish on the notebook is matte and the palmrest is not the same as the old chasis which wore out - this one is made of another material.
Hope I answered some of the questions now.. Im getting one of these definetely! -
good luck hellcry whoot!

that 85c is not how you read the temps...it's the total temp..the first one. the one that reads 53'c and that is in no way near critical. i7's seem to read like 5 temps. one per core and the one that the system reads or the sensors pick up.

Where are the screens shots for the temps?

i ordered one and got it friday...great machine

HERE is my review.. i might add some more screenshots, but i wont make videos though, since i dont see a real reason to. Youve got videos of how the thing looks if you google D900F and you got benchmarks and reviews to tell you how it works so id say its covered.

still don't understand why they took the temp's off unless because of the bad press ......which would be shady
