What does a notebook need in order to claim the title of "world's fastest laptop"? The AVADirect Clevo X7200 steps up to the challenge with a six-core Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition processor, cutting-edge NVIDIA GeForce 580M graphics, 12GB of RAM and a blazing fast SSD. Will all that gaming performance keep your attention, or will this 13.5-pound notebook prove too much to bear?

Why no testing of the cpu overclocked? Pretty silly you guys review some of these laptops with extreme cpu's and don't even test that feature.

I thought one of the major selling points of this device was the SLi or Crossfire capability and by adding the second GPU, this model becomes "the Worlds Fastest Gaming Notebook".

Also I believe insiders have indicated at Computex this year that a Backlit option for the keyboards on Clevo Gaming Machines will be available on Ivy Bridge models next year.

Keyboard layout still sucks. Needs a proper 4-column numpad and an isolated, inverted-T cursor key arrangement for it to be useful.

I would also say the story here is that one of the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M graphics cards is roughly equivalent to TWO GTX 480M cards working in SLI.

That said, it indeed would have been interesting to see how fast two 580M cards are ... but that also would have been even more insanely expensive.

Having owned both an x7200 (I7 970, dual gtx 485) and an m18x (I7 2920xm, dual 6990s) and many gaming laptops, I only partially agree with this review. It is the highest performing laptop out there, true. It is also very easy to replace/upgrading parts. On the other hand, its weight, clumsy keyboard and design we're major detractions for me. Additionally, this thing does not "run cool", not by any means -- putting a desktop CPU in a laptop chassis is just not viable for this reason imo.
