Sorry for the late reply, I have been rather busy traveling.
I don't have any videos on my notebook yet as I haven't transferred the from my external hard drive. (this works best if you have external mouse or horizontal AND vertical scroll on your touch pad, this is for the web pages)

OK - this thread looks pretty dead but I'll take a risk anyways.
Basically, my VAIO Z has been the centre of my nightmares ever since it hit the age of 4 months. Now at 1 year 1 month old, the screen is showing signs of dying pixels at 5 or so places. But since it has a 2 year warranty, I'll take it in and see what Sony thinks of it. Apparently Sony usually turns down LCD replacement requests stating users pressed the screen too hard (well, duh - they are portable so that is bound to happen). If I get the LCD replaced, then all good. If not... Sony can expect hell from me for the next few months... And no - I didn't do anything to my Z - the dead pixels first started showing when it was 6 months old but me and university studies prevented me from taking the Z to service (used the laptop every darn day). And work till today meant I couldn't be without my Z. And I treated the LCD like a god (didn't touch it ONCE, gently wiped with microfibre cloth when dust built up)
So basically, I'm thinking of the N10 which I considered once before buying my current Z26. More specifically, the N10Jh, which today comes with the nVidia GeForce G105M having 512MB dedicated instead of the 9300GM with 256MB dedicated (I think a 9300GM is the G105M but rebranded, though can anyone confirm?).
Basically, I'm into video editing but I'm planning on a custom machine for that now, so the N10 has to be able to at least SMOOTHLY playback 1080p .mkv files. Is there anyone out there, ANYONE AT ALL who managed to get the N10 to play 1080p smoothly without issues? If so, what setup (software-wise) did you do?
Cheers in advance
