The much rumored and greatly anticipated ASUS media tablet is official ... and it's more than just a media tablet. The Eee Pad EP101TC and EP121 are the first in what will surely be a long line of mobile computing and entertainment devices from the company that invented the netbook. See our photos of these new products after the jump.

Looks to be way better than crapple's Ipad.
Would be nice to run Android or MeeGo on it.

I just hope that Asus can actually make these laptops available. Their Bamboo series has been shown at trade shows since January, but its still not ready! They need to really decrease their time to market, bigtime.

My Vaio TT with the SU9300 culv is surprisingly speedy for what is it, and have yet to find a video file on the HDD or on the net to cause an issue for me. So, if this has one of the C2D(or even SU4100 dual core) variants of CULV then this should be pretty solid. I like it, specially if the screen has a wacom like pen support, and multi-touch.

I'm wondering whether it's possible to attach the screen to the keyboard docking station in a vertical position and use it that way in portrait mode. This would be a big selling point for me as I do a lot of writing and portrait mode would allow me to view a lot more lines of text. If it has this feature and performs decently I'm definitely in.

Unfortunately, it seems Asus rushed to show their prototype/concept tablets and the few hands on reviews were abysmal... though they did praise their design above all else. Personally, I believe they rushed the tablet demonstration just to show off their docking stations. But in any case, the latest news regarding the Eee Pad tablets hint at a March 2011 release date and say that the EP101 and EP121 will be displayed at Computex 2011. Any and all details should be made available then, at the latest.

    Jake from Tablet Reviews.

10 hours of battery life on a windows 7 tablet is incredible .. was there some new kind of battery out recently or what's the deal I wonder. :)
