That sounds very low. Is that on your TT? Are you sure you pressed HD in the Youtube clip?
People are posting way higher results here:

You could also try flash 10.1? Intel 4500 should also accelerate Flash.
My HP DM1, SU2300, Intel 4500, Firefox and Flash 10.1 gets around 60%.
-
Yeah, that on my TT. Does 10.1 work with the 4500HD? I thought usage was normal, and that with 5 tabs open and tweetdeck(Adobe Air based software).
-
When I tested it a couple of months ago on a P8600 it caused 80% CPU spikes.
But Flash may have improved later. -
What was the GPU?
-
ATI 4570, but then the GPU made no difference for Flash.
And yes, Intel 4500 supports DXVA and so does Flash 10.1. -
Odd I just tried it with flash 10.1 with 3 tabs open and I got 40%-51%
BTW: This all on the latest version of Google Chrome. -
will let you know what he tells me about the world of warcraft video when he answers.
The thing is that the ion is much better than 4500mhd. nvidia has also released the new drivers to better use flash 10.1 beta 2. Like I said, I'm not surprised if it gets lower than your results : 40-50% -

"Not completely smooth but 95% smooth, CPU around 30-40%" -
this is a nice netbook kind of notebook, but i still see the ul series being far more superior...
-
I asked someone in the asus forum who already has a 1201n to test the asteroid video you posted with the new nvidia drivers and 10.1 beta 2 to see what he gets.
I also have to say that he was able to overclock his machine to 1850mhz stable with asrock software. he got a 3dmark06 of 1734 on his first try. not bad at all. I'm sure with xp he would be closer to 1900 and with 2x2 gig ram close to 2000 maybe. we will see.
This little machine looks like it has potencial.
edit: here is the link to the asus forum thread:

looks like the norm is between 30-40% cpu. I'm sure once the final version of 10.1 will come out the video will be perfectly smooth. maybe less cpu usage? -
I think the video itself may not be smooth. Otherwise it would be smooth with 40% CPU usage.
-
-
I dunno, the video played smoothly for me with out any lag. So, it may not be the video, it could the computer or the internet connection?
-
Or people's perception and definition of smoothness varies.

I just pre-ordered one of these from Amazon today...they had it 3% off, so I paid $484 including free shipping. I got the silver one rather than black...I've had too much hassle trying to keep glossy black notebooks clean.
-
I got my 1201N a couple days ago. So far I love it. Light enough to be easily held in one hand while the other works the keyboard/touchpad (can't say that for my old Studio 15 ), and the silver color is fantastic; it doesn't show fingerprints at all. I just wish the display bezel wasn't glossy black, but it sure beats the entire body being black.
Performance is great so far. I've been able to run Team Fortress 2, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Unreal Tournament 2004 at quite playable settings, with the latter two completely maxed out. I've got some other games downloading for testing later.
The only thing that bothers me at all is the temperatures; the Atom 330 idles around 55 Celsius, and the nVidia ION idles at around 65. This is my first netbook though, and according to the reassurances of others, these are pretty normal temperatures.
I also had no idea that Atoms supported Hyper-Threading. Needless to say, I was surprised when I saw 4 CPU threads in Task Manager.
Overall, this is an excellent choice for the price. -
After months of browsing trough this forum this netbook has the biggest chance of being bought by me. It costs 450€ in Belgium, if I buy it with a sleeve and external cd drive price wil go up to +-530€.
I'm gonna ask at the local pc store how much they will sell it for, because I trust their service more than the one online stores offer.
The battery life is a bit ofputting but perhaps I'll just order a second battery.
Off topic question so PM me if you know the answer: Has asus anounced any new models like this one? -
This device looks nice but will it play any Divx movie ?
-
I just bought one of these and love it. It's light, fast enough, and battery lasts almost 5 hours. Only thing I don't like is the finger pinching on the mouse pad. Does anyone know how to turn it off?
-
Double click the touchpad icon in the taskbar, select the Device Settings tab, and the Settings button. You can disable the pinch zoom there.
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with the 1201N, all things considered. It's got better performance than most sub-$500 netbooks, but if it can't do anything without overheating and dying, what's the point? I'm on my 4th one since I bought one in January. -
-
Heh, I didn't even mention the heat; it's unbelievable how hot this thing gets. I keep it on a well-ventilated desk most of the time, but it still physically burns on direct contact with skin. I literally can't use it as a laptop without wearing thick jeans. Idle temperatures are in the upper 50s to 60s Celsius.
