According to this LaptopLogic article Taylor [the 90nm T64 X2] has been delayed due too power issues. Furthermore, Tyler [the 65nm T64 X2] has been puhed back into 2007. Its now likely that Merom will preceed Taylor, stay tuned.

Curious that the NotebookReview news guy and AMD fanboy didn't see fit to publish this story.

I read it and feel very upset..
The longer AMD delay, the better situation for Intel and worser for AMD..

Consumer will purchase yonah and then they do not have empty slot to get Taylor.. Actually, I want to have Taylor not Yonah.. but if AMD launch late.. I regret to purhcase Yonah instead.. how unlucky I have..?

    :(

I am going to get a new laptop in early august....will the X2 be available?

The reason they haven't posted this is proably because of the lack of sources. One random chinese forum doesn't consitute as a source.

maybe they were waiting for a more reliable source than a random Chinese website?

I'm just going to say I hope this isn't true and/or it changes and end it there... ._. I hate delays...

err... i read the chinese forum, and it doesn't say that Taylor is being delayed... It says:

    Q2 2006 = Taylor
    Q1 2007 = Tyler

Theres no delay... May = Q2, right?

And the article compaires on the improvments of Tyler over Taylor (Dual Channel DDR2-800, 100MHz Granularity, P-state Transirtions), and does not mention any "delay". I think the guys over at Laptop logic messed things up, or they forgot to reference the correct source.

I've browsed through the source (translated to English via Google) and I cannot find any info that would justify the headline "AMD's Turion X2 has been delayed"

There are sources around the web raising the "question", not the statement, that whether the Turion X2 is delayed - or not - ? Many of the speculations came from this slide:

    http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/attachments_dir/ext_jpg/sockets1-2_t8clnrFeNC8H.jpg

Unfortunately the date line is in "HALF" of year, not even quarter. So when the Turion X2 is aligned with 2H06, some people start to say ?delay?

About the only thing I can "interpret" is the Mobile AthlonX2 and the correspoding Mobile Sempron (both for the new socket S1) are due out in June - together with the AM2 launch. Otherwise, the Turion X2 is still due May 9.
