While Atom may seem a little scary at first, don't forget that rugged notebooks usually come with ULV components in order to avoid air vents. As a result, you really aren't going to want to want to game on them. What you do want is communications and office tasks, and the Atom will do those just as fine as a C2D ULV. PCMCIA slot, however, is a disappointment. Why no ExpressCard?

For that price they should have gone at least with the dual core atom, or Celeron for a little more power and speed.

Well, you pay a substantial premium for the Mil-STD-810F standard toughness rating. Compare this to the Toughbook H1, which goes for over $3000.
