    Hi
I sharpied my m1330 few weeks ago. -> HERE

after some advice and this thread

So I sharpied again my m1330 with more ink and then I bought(on ebay only 12.99 usd) a transparent "lid cover" (something like invisible shield, not pre-cut I did it by myself). this is the result, i m quite satisfied.

    Before:

First try (photo taken with my cheap mobile phone):

After(there are some scratches that's because I used wrong method applying the "cover":

    Details:
The lid is now reflective lol
    [IMG]

    not very noticeable the scratches
    [IMG]

you almost can't notice the "shield" in the palmset it's invisible!

    now you can...

touchpad and buttons are also coated.. :D

    Looks nice!

What product did you use, and was it pre-cut for your notebook?

The lid looks nice, but it seems like the protective coating would make the touchpad/buttons get little flaked bits or get gummy or something.

True lol, I'm actually thinking to remove the coating of the touchpad.... buttons are fine..

I got it from ebay only 12.99 usd cheaper than invisible shield. and it's not pre-cut, I did it by my self

I Used rules to measure and calculate where to cut, then used a box cutter [IMG]

and a long rule to help me cut straight line. then apply with a rule to avoid bubbles

Nice job Kossel. I noticed you 1 up'd my by going over the touchpad as well, something I foregoed. Did you notice a drop in sensitivity? Does the tactile feeling bother you?

    Great job!

It looks good. I like the extra shine it gives the lid. What specifically is that material called?

For a moment there I thought you sharpied your whole lid black to give it that *sheen* look.

    Great design. I like it.

    Kossel,

I hate to think about doing something like that. Ugrrrr, too much measurement right ??

In fact, I just opened my lappie apart 5 min ago and tried to find a way to apply the sheet when I haven't read your post. I couldnot completely remove the palmrest, plus think about I still have to use box cutter to cut when done applying so I gave up. I will give it a shot by measurement and cut. I'll let you know when I'm done

Thanks for you help. It's better to see someone done it first then you go with the way they did :D :D

looks awesome, just like to ask did you have to farnish it or something to stop the ink from rubbing off?or does it stay on perfectly?

    great work btw!

u dont have open your lap, just 2 rulers + a cutter + some primary school math. that's all u need

i sharpied it first then applied the protector, so don't think it can rub off

I have a solution for those bubbles(what I did to bubbles):

1- try to push those small bubble that in the same place in to a solo big bubble.
2- pick a very small needle, in a angle like 30' respect of your laptop or table, make a small hole in the border of the bubble.(don't make it in the center)
3- them push as much as possible the bubble from other size of the hole, until the air go out from the hole.
4- that would help, since the holes are very small you wont notices that. actually i have like 20 holes
