I'm looking at getting a skin for my Asus G1s. I have had it for about a week and haven't even taken the cello off that it came with , so shiny and pretty that I don't want smudge and scratch this cover!

I like the artsy and funky styles at Gelaskins.com and istyles.com. The glue or stickyness used is the most important factor when choosing a skin, i would think.
Any advice from those who have used a 3M product? Are they all from 3M, I wonder? There are even some skins sold at compusa, but I don't want flames or skulls. Purple or pink skulls would work, but not these. ;)

Any input appreciated. Gotta buy soon.

Yes, I did read the sticky, but I was asking more people for opinions. Who rated those sites and are all the materials used the exact same in quality?

Wait, the G1s cover is soo shinny.. you want to ruin it by sticking a sticker on it?!?! WHY?

How funny, I know, it's beautiful, but I am afraid it will get scratched up and lose it's pristine glassy look. Perhaps then I should consider a skin and not now.

If a sticker will ruin the finish, that's the kind of information I am looking for here.. I do not want to ruin this notebook.

I also don't want to use a product that leaves any goo behind when removed. Many of the sites listed in the stickies section seem to be different products, some being thicker film with goo and some thin, like window tint. IE: Gelakins.com & istyles.com

I was just curious about what others who have used a variety of different ones had to say about them.

Schtickers and Skinit are both removable and reusable. The do not leave any residue.

I don't believe any of those listed leave any residue what so ever.

I had this same problem when I first bought my HP DV6000T..

I loved the look, but wanted more protection, I turned it over to the guys at www.shieldzone.com

The cover is completely clear and is not too hard to install, it has a lifetime guarantee not to let the device it protects become scratched. I love it, I bought one for my Nikon D40 camera, Microsoft Zune, and Ipod.
It is not reusable after you remove it, however it leaves absolutely no residue, and they will replace it for free if it gets scratched at all.

Here is a link for one to fit the G1

lkingsvs - Thank you ! That is a different product. Trying to decide on a color or style for the other skins was too hard because I think I would get tired of a specific design pretty fast. This is great, appreciate it.

    Review:
    The company is shieldzone
When I first went to order a shield they did not have an option for my notebook, so I e-mailed the VP of New Business Development Phillip Chipping. We made a deal to get a shield custom made for me so they did the installing for me since I had to send my laptop in for a mock up.

I sent my laptop in the day I received it from HP and it was received it back with shield installed in 6 business days. The shield was perfect, so much so, I could not tell it was on. The shield does make the surface more tactile, and if you set something on top, it will help keep it from sliding off. Phillip contacted me several times in order to make sure I was kept abreast of the progress.

    Product:
The shield is extremely durable and the finish on this shield as well as others for my other devices is perfect. Check the website for the video and the other reviews. I have installed 3 on devices such as camera, zune, ipod, and 1 on a laptop myself with little effort. The process consists of spraying a solution, applying the shield, and squeegeeing the solution out from under the shield. Can take up to 2 days for all the bubbles to go away. I had to wait only 8 hours for it to look good and feel permanent. (it is also very easy to remove and leaves absolutely no residue)

    Service:
3 out of 5 times when I have called in for service or to order, I have been taken straight to an operator, or had a short wait for an operator. The other times I was asked to leave a message, and a call was returned to me within 2 hours. Email responses were always within 24 hours or less (more like 4 hours or less during the day.)

The replacement process is VERY easy, NO HASSLES, just fast service.

There really is nothing i can think of to say as a negative towards the company.
*I do not work for shield zone, I am just a very satisfied customer.
