    is vinyl paint durable enough for keys?

    Has anyone ever used vinyl spray paint to paint laptop keys?

    I'm wondering if it can withstand finger grease and the occasional alcohol wipe.

    Looking at the keys on my Asus gl502, it looks like all the keys are painted at the factory.

    I personslly would love some option alternative to stickers for removing keyboard lettering completely; please let me know how it goes if you end up painting your keyboard.

    I'm not removing keyboard lettering.

    The backlit keys on my GL502 look like they're made from transparent orange plastic, painted in black, with the letters laser etched.

    The orange wasd keys have raised black letters, and all other black keys have orange depressed letters.

    Yea, I don't think any box store paints would hold up to that sort of use. At least not for long.
    You would need to scuff up the keys anyways so the paint would stick. Neither an easy or quick task.
    I just don't see something like this being feasible, imo.
