    asus V6 brushed alluminium paint job, how can i do it?

    Hi, Im just wondering if it would be possible to paint my brushed aluminum palm rest. The color i want is black of corse. (it will be like the lambo version lol)

    I think...It might drip and come out not so good..I recommend pro paint job.[Smooth Creations]

    Not only will it probrably not work, sice the Brushed Aluminum is Iodized(not sure if correct spelling :p), it may....do something.

    Quick wikipedia search to read up on anodizing reveals it's pretty much just a protective layer over the aluminium. Not sure if paint will adhere, but if not, sand it down to bare aluminium and paint it like any other metal. Get some automotive spray cans, primer, black, clear coat.

    There have been other painting threads here, and you can google for more.

    painting over beautiful anodized brushed aluminum is like going to a dealership and handing over your lexus and driving away in a honda! please dont do it!!!

    Better yet, get ASUS to replace your palm rest with the lambo version.... at a cost of course.

    **** guys take it easy!!! I will NOT paint my lovely v6 palm rest... Thanks jsis, someone who understands me.... I wonder if like u say, a replacement from the lambo be possible.

    yes its true, and its obivious that paint will be off from the palrest with some use.

    I wouldnt do it just because it already looks sooo good.
