So I was wondering if XoticPC copper cooling upgrade was worth doing on say an Alienware 17, I know the Alienware cooling is pretty solid to begin with, but how do you think the copper cooling upgrade would effect temps, is it even worth considering? would it void the Alienware basic 1 year warranty? I am guessing it does, if someone has done this upgrade on another gaming laptop can you please post temps? and feedback? I will reward rep power .
And if a XoticPC rep could post before and after temps it would be very helpful .

    Thanks everyone .

Edit ; This is probably not the best of places to post this, if an admin passes through here and knows of a better spot to put this, please do so .

    Hi Benmaui,
What we do is add additional copper heatsinks to the computer which increases surface are allowing more heat to get pulled away from the CPU and GPU so their temps are lower. It doesnt make a huge difference but if you want the lowest temps possible it helps you with that.
We dont have any before/after temps to provide as it does vary depending on model and how much we can add to it. It is a popular upgrade to get though and I dont remember hearing anyone regret getting it.

Thanks a lot for the help, it is much appreciated, any idea how easy they are to attach ? it appears to be through cable ties and thermal adhesive, which would make it extremely easy, any one ever tried using these on their gaming laptop? any feedback would be really helpful .

I will probably get 2 or 3 packs, should work nicely on an Alienware 17 with its mesh underside and a Notepal U3 .

I've used those same ones and they're just using adhesive thermal tape. You peel the sticker thing off the back and just press it on. The cable tie is just a reusable velcro tie they give you for free. There are a couple different options on amazon though, you might be able to use some with taller fins if space allows. I will say that you need to make sure to clean the area before putting these on. I put on a few before cleaning my heatsink and they ended not adhering as well (one came off) which means less thermal transfer.. Rubbing alcohol should be adequate.

As mentioned, they aren't going to perform miracles but should shave a few C off. They aren't going to do anything at all if there isn't air flowing over them though.. Just fyi

Where exactly should you stick these little things?

My laptop is plenty cool, but I'll do anything else to keep it cool, I think cooling is one of the most important things on these machines.
