    Why not paint your brand new laptop? If its ugly, or you think it needs painting, and your really sure that you can do it then go for it. Back to the topic, I'm not a paint guru, so I wouldn't know.. Personally when I paint my laptop I'm going to be using automotive paint and all that, but I have the equipment for that (ie. spray guns, paint(its pretty expensive) and my bro is a professional painter so I'll have him do it.
