    Vostro 1400 with a Red, etc 1420 Inspiron Lid

    I can't believe no one has already done this (assuming it can be done).

    I think itd be pretty awesome to swap the original black lid on the 1400 for a color lid from the inspiron since they're essentially the same. It would create a ruby red/black DS look imo.

    i dont really like them lids on the inspirons cause they are rubbery or something and if you scratch them it will stay,ive seen them in the store and kinda scratchtd one to see lol

    Thinkpads have similar rubbery coating which leaves scratch marks and makes it extremely hard or impossible to remove hand stain/oil off the lid.

    I had a thinkpad for two years. I thought I kept it fairly clean - I usually wiped the cover down with alcohol every week. When I went to sell it, I decided to give it a major cleaning. I used 16oz of rubbing alcohol 90% before I got all of the grease/etc out of the lid.

    It felt new when I was done.

    But you can swap the 1400 and 1420 lids. I was thinking of doing this with a 1500 lid to replace the pink on my 1520
