So I have an HP TC4200 tablet pc and i want to upgrade its internals to those of the tc4400.

Looking at pics of the two motherboards, I noticed that they are identically shaped.

Would this work and is it worth $220?

    Simply put, no.

One reason I can think of at a quick glance at the specs are that the processor in the yours and the other one use difference sockets I think, and that they are incompatible.

If you need a tablet, then I suggest you get a new one. The best parts you can upgrade to are only going to get you a tiny bit further than in terms of performance than you already are on that tablet.

But he's asking about switching out the motherboard, no? That might work.

I'll have to go with this one. For $220, you can pick up a used Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Solo Merom tablet.

Could you please provide a link? If I can do that, then I can sell my tc4200 for $380 and

    1. Acquire Tablet
    2. Post Tablet for sale
    3. ???
    4. Profit

    :D

    lol. Yes, something like that.

I picked up a M400, specs in sig for $230 about 2 months ago. Welcome to Ebay. lol

If Ebay is out for you, craigslist might be the choice. You would be surprised at what you find there.

funnily enough im looking to do exactly the same thing.

    i currently have a tc4200 with a pentium m 750 and 2gb ddr2 ram.

Ive currently been offered a very cheap tc4400 motherboard (sub £60) and wondered if it was possible to pop the tc4200 motherboard out and simply put the tc4400 motherboard in.

in theory the chassis are the same, (i know i will have to use a sata hdd instead of an ide, but the ram will still be the same) i also have a spare working t7200 core2duo cpu lying around so that problem is solved also.

my only thoughts are that the tft/digitizer connector is reversed (some people have mentioned this when changing the display over on tc 4200/4400's)

other than that, it should work ok?

anyone else out here that can help me and Dspr 02 ?
