    Hi,

I'm thinking of swapping out the 16" screen from my Toshiba A660 (i7-740QM / GT -330M / 4GB DDR3) to a higher resolution screen however I was just wondering if it will work?

I know for a fact that the GT330M supports higher resolutions but the screen lacks the support for it (only 1366x768). For a 16" screen the default resolution is a bit small and hence the reason why I plan on swapping it out.

Any thoughts? Should I even attempt it?

If your exact model was offered with 768p and a 1080p screens as options, then it's almost guaranteed to work. However the cost of the new screen may make the swap too expensive. It might be cheaper to just sell your current laptop and buy a new one with better specs.

Not really, ScreenCountry.com has 1080p LED Screens for only $100 USD, I doubt his A660 is worth that low at all. It is good investment really, I am planning on doing the same to my current Envy.
