Hi,
I've bought a Toshiba laptop a month ago and I live in a very hot and humid city (summers are like hell). I upgraded its hard drive by myself and noticed a green residue within screw tooths of the hdd compartment lid.
I really want to believe it's something else (something to do with tightening of the screws) but I've seen similar green residue in my other electronic equipment which proves to be corrosion. Here even Duracell's tend to leak acid...
I'd like to ask if other Toshiba/Laptop owners experience similar thing (which may indicate it's not a corrosion). Or how can screws get corroded within a month? Could the corrosion had began before I bought it?
Any ideas, experiences etc. are welcome...

I don't know about toshiba but many manufacturers use lock-tite. I have never seen green but it comes in several colors.
is it powdery or is it more like hard candy or dried glue??
If it is like hard candy it is most likely lock-tite -
if it's on the threads and not the head of the screw, it's some kind of thread lock.
