    Hello,
So i own an old Portege r100.. and it's very beat up. Just take a look at the picture.. the paint is literally peeling off the paint lining, explosing the plastic.

    Anyone ever tried repainting?

Let me know about the experience and how you did it!

If you have the time to take to paint it properly i think it would be worth it. Plus you could choose what colors you would do it in!

I HIGHLY suggest a very high quality car paint, or car interior paint.

I've painted a few notebooks myself, I find rustoleum auto to be a pretty durable paint. Remember to do all the basic things though, clean, smooth off the notebook surface you'll be painting. You'll also definately want to use a fine sandpaper to smooth that thing off before putting any paint on it. I also suggest picking up a good quality clear coat to prevent further wear on the notebook and add a nice glossy effect.

I say leave the notebook as it is. According to me, a banged up notebook adds character.

Take the unit apart. And please.. Please use good paint. I have a unit here that was done 4 years ago and still looks brand new.
