I am attempting to remove my laptop screen and just use an external monitor because it broke. I know there are wifi antennas in the screen but I am just using a Ethernet connection so I am not concerned about that. My problem is that I have removed the screen and disconnected all the cables.. Camera cable, screen cable, antenna cables but now since I've done that my external monitor will not work.. Tried both the blue VGA cable and a HDMI cable but nothing. I have tried hitting the Fn hot key stroke but it's not working either. My laptop is a Dell inspiron 1525. Any help onto why it's not working and how I can fix it would be great.. Idk if one of the cables have to be plugged in to work or not.. Any help please...

I think the external moitor connection is somehow disabled. I have done the same and it did work. I've removed the Wifi module, antennas, camera, mic, the screen itself.

Did you take out the RAM modules etc.? Check if everything is in place. Also, start up your laptop and let it run for a time so the driver can be installed.

if the external screen doesn't kick in properly, mess with the FN+ (screen key
) all modern laptops have this however the actual screen key may vary.

but i would replace the screen than remove it because after all a laptop is more useful than half a laptop.

I would also recommend replacing the screen. It really isn't that difficult (depending on your brand of laptop). Consult your user manual, as each lappy is different.
