So I just bought a used laptop from someone on Craigslist. I'm getting annoyed about how greasy the keyboard is though it is not as bad as the keyboards at libraries. Anyone know a good way to remove the oil using some kind of chemical or technique?

Try using abit of bluetack to get the dirt off. Also screen cleaners i find are also quite good with cleaning keyboards.

i wonder if rubbing alcohol will work >.< that or i should really start wearing gloves when i type =(

Just wondering if it really is oil and grease or whether the coating on the keyboard/touchpad is wearing off leaving the original shiny surface exposed.
I have noticed that my Acer's keyboard is "greasy/oily" and it is because the coating has worn out and I must use a keyboard protector to prevent any more loss of coating. -
i think its the grease from your natural oils in your fingers, i notice this too with my cellphones screen also...

use some type of chemical that quickly evaporates, ie mineral spirits......and slightly moisten a rag/paper towel, but do not leave any pooling
