Do you guys know if you can remove the lid cover on an Asus F3Jv?

I want to airbrush the case and its really fiddly and annoying to mask off all these rounded edges, gaps and vents, not impossible, just annoying.

I guess I could be lazy and use a brush but it would be made of pure suck and I would be ashamed to take it out in public.

I suppose another option would include lots of masking tape and plasticine... I've done it that way before, just wondering if its easier to take it apart rather than mask it up

If you are only going to paint the lid, then why not use a custom sticker instead ? that’s much easier and safer.

I'm an art and design student and I have £££ of paint equipment in my house so airbrushing is easy for me to do, and since I already have all of the gear for it, I don't really like the idea of buying a sticker and I don't think it'll cover the whole lid anyway...

I'll probably just go with masking it all off, to be honest. It's probably safer though still vastly annoying.

I've replaced a couple notebook LCD screens before, so here goes.

Actually, now that I think about it, you *might* be able to get away with a shortcut. See the little rubber feet all around the front of the display bezel? They're there to keep the screen from smacking the keyboard, and they hide the screws holding the front and back of the lid together. Pry up the rubber feet with a screwdriver, and remove the screws. Be careful not to let the LCD panel just fall out while you do this. You might be able to remove the back portion of the lid rather easily without partially disassembling the rest of the laptop.

It is very likely that the panel will be attached to the lid via a series of screws, which should be easily accessible, but keep in mind that the panel is still attached to the motherboard, so you don't want to tug too hard on it, lest you rip your computer a new one, so to speak.
