 I had my Acer Aspire 4520G Gmasked.

Let me explain what persuaded me to try this product.

My laptop took a beating when I rode the MRT last Valentines day. That traumatic experience made me wish I never stepped on that train and just waited for the traffic to ease up. Not only did I experience being carried into the train against my will, but I also had to push my way out. My anger turned into remorse when I saw that my laptop turned 2 years older within 30 minutes. Its once smooth and shiny cover was scratched and ruined.

I don't know when I'll be able to walk through those MRT doors again.

    -----------

Before that incident, I already heard about GMASK Beauty Wrap and had intentions of having my laptop masked there, I just didn't think it was necessary to do it right away.

    Boy was I wrong.

I finally went to Shangri-La (local mall) and turned my Scarface Laptop over to the lady while Dino and I ate at Wham! which was pretty nearby. When the lady was done, I saw my lappy and all the despair vanished. I can look at my laptop with smilies all over again. I know I cannot erase the scratches but I will be able to prevent new ones,

Just a quick run down of how to go about the GMASK process.

    1. Make sure you have money with you. It's a bit pricey but worth it. If your laptop is silver, it just needs one coating. If your laptop is black like mine, it requires two coats to allow the image to pop out.

    2. Choose your design. If you want to use your own design, it will set you back another grand i think, plus two weeks of waiting since the material gets shipped from a nearby asian country. They have nice designs to choose from but you have to really look for the one that you won't get tired of.

    3. Cleaning and sticking. They wipe and clean and stick the material to your gadget. You can watch their video demonstration on their site.

    4. Picking up your gadget.

    Wheeee! :)

If I remember correctly, it set me back around 3,000 Pesos ( OR around US$70).. I know, expensive right? But I felt so much better knowing the wounds of Tony was bandaged.

Dude, you also sticked 'em stickers on top of the touchpad? Is it still functional?!

On the MRT, you should never EVER bring your laptop [or anything delicate that could get easily beaten up because of the tightly crowded train] with you if you plan to travel on that train, especially during peak hours [6-9am; 4-8pm]. I've only brought my laptop with me when I traveled there ONCE, and I only did it because I knew I could catch a seat [North Avenue station, so it's the first station -- better chance at getting a seat]. And my Vostro is practically built like a tank. And I was uber extra careful.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of the design. But at least you didn't resort to those glitters. *shudders at the thought* Also, I kinda wish you didn't stop with the palm rests -- you should've also put 'em stickers on the areas around the keyboard as well.

How much did it cost you?

lol, i think i have to explain im a girl. :)

they have way more designs.. but i opted with this one since it goes with my personality.

Re: the MRT, yeah, I've learned my lesson. But I didn't really have any choice at that time. :(

aaaah around the keyboard as well? It would have set me back too much already. i think around 3T+ pesos.. if i convert it, around US$70 already.

The main purpose of my gmask was to prevent more scratches.

    Touchpad still very functional. :)

Maybe if i can save up i can have the sides done too. :)

That's awesome, I wish they had something like that in America, If we did I would get something like that done to my laptop, with a different pattern though. :)

nice but I probably would have pulled all the stickers off the laptop first as you can see them through the pattern.

Actually they asked me if i wanted to have them removed. But i have an awful memory so I decided to keep them on so i wouldn't have any trouble looking at my laptop specs. :)

looks very nice... like the others said, i would have covered the areas around the keyboard or have left the inside without anything at all, but i like the lid - quality looks impressive... :)
