Hey, i have a Dell E1705 and i was thinking fo taking some of these: http://www.decalfx.com/vinyl_sheets.html (yellow) and putting them on my laptop. After that, i was thinking of stenciling a design on top of the vinyl. My question is, would the paint work over the vinyl?

Hmm.. I don't know if paint would work over the vinyl or not. It depends on the paint I think. I would call them up and ask them. Just have a particular type of paint in mind. It seems like it would work, but I worry that it may remain tacky when put on the vinyl.

u can get these body removable tattoos from eBay, from normal shops
they are being applied the exact same way as you would on the body (water) - but much easier since it is flat surface. Removing procedure is the same as with the body tattoo (lotion or any oily stuff)

    cheers ...

And what about the life expectancy, I remember body removable tattoos start to deteriorate very fast...

well, the one on my HP is now 3 weeks old.
i believe the deterioration was due to the oil/sweat from the body. it is really a temporary stencil, cheap and replaceable

    cheers ...

hmm, ya paintjobs are sweet, but the thing with a paint job is that u have to take apart the laptop.... or is there a way to paint ur laptop without having to take it apart? like the palmrests and the side, etc

true, it is the only good &secure way

i would not take that chance, running paint can be detrimental to the health of the laptop
but it would not surprise me if many out there have tried (&succeeded?)

    cheers ...
