Anyone know where I can send my notebook or parts of my notebook to be painted over by automotive paint (besides LaptopDesignUSA)? I'm having trouble thinking up of a good keyword to put in Google to find such services.

Do you know of any companies in the Chicago area by chance that repaint computer parts and accessories? If not Chicago, anywhere in the US.

I want to change the color of some laptop batteries from silver to black.

dman, you can do it yourself. The battery is usually on the bottom side of the laptop, so it doesnt matter how well it is painted. You can physically paint it with spray paint like Krylon Fusion. All you need to do is lightly sand the battery casing, and paint it. Please make sure to tape over the battery connector, because paint is conductive, and you can short your battery.

You can try looking up automotive spray shops, they should be able to spray a few coats of paint for a minimal price.

I am planning to paint BLACK my VAIOZ batt.U think a 220 sandpaper would be fine enough cause a coarser one would dig into the plastic
