This week I sanded and repainted my ugly blue aspire one. Repainted it glossy white :)

Goes nicely with mac os x leopard installed on it.

well i bought my blue version before the white version was available at best buy.

not to sound messed up, but you put too much coat, especially on the lid. there isn't any sign of any sanding after putting on the coat. bad paintjob overall.

I like the way it looks. Good job overall. And kudos for having the balls to do it.

Very globy and uneven. Did you actually remove the laptop from the casing to paint it? Look at the touch pad. Sorry but thumbs down from me.

yes, i did take apart the whole laptop. touchpad isn't removable, therefore that piece of plastic had to stay on so i had to tape it up and thats why its all messed up there. It is fixed now and the lines are straight and smooth.

Exactly! Trying to accomplish & challenging yourself on something is the best thing.

You never learn how something is going to end up, unless you try it! :D

And, you now: "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again"! ;)

It's not too bad, and next time you do it ~ you will have better skills at it!

    :D

    Cin ;) :)

Indeed, even though it looks a little messy, you had the guts to do it so if you like it, who gives a thing about what eveybody else thinks about it, so keep going

    (sorry for the bad english)

Very impressive, congratulations. I am sure it looks nice in person. To everyone who thinks it looks bad, have you ever taken pictures on a camera phone, they never come out very good, it looks like the contrast is wrong in the pictures. That being said, look at it again, it looks like he did a really nice job.
Its hard to get a nice finish with spraypaint, so I commend you

Yes I have taken pictures with a camera phone. Just because he took the picture with a camera phone doesn't mean that the mistakes cannot be seen with the naked eye. I know the difference from the an overly coated paintjob and one that isn't. I don't care about the minute taping mistakes around the touch pad and the hinge, but I do care about the quality of the lid's paintjob - the part of the laptop that most stands out.

Now, before you criticize me about not having the balls to paint a laptop, it is because I am a new laptop owner. And yes, I do not have the balls to recreate a perfectly good laptop. However, I have done my fair share of paintjobs and I know what I am talking about from experience. I have done the same mistake as the OP, and I know well enough how horrid it looks from afar.
