Hey, I posted some pics the other day with the name tag I got for my laptop in place. I mentioned there that I would post pics of my laptop skin when it arrived. So, here it is, its a customized skin. I edited the images and made the design myself. I think it turn out alright, I'm glad it was free and I didn't have to pay full price. I was lucky enough that when I lined it up at the hinges, the rest of it fell right into place, like it should have. There were a couple of very slight wrinkles that formed from flattening it out since it came rolled up. Like some other folks have stated, the corners do wrinkle a bit, but cutting a small slit in the extra material and heating them with a hair dryer flattened them out alright. The background color is black, but with the lighting and flash in the photo, it looks like dark gray. Anyway, just posting for comments. I like it pretty good, ecspecially knowing I don't have to worry much about fingerprints or scratches on the original finish. Check out the attachments.

Too many crinkles for that color. It shows up real easily. Do you make sure to lay it like vinyl? I.E., squeegee is down as you went?

Yea, I understand exactly what you're saying. Other than at the corners, and around the tag, it layed down just fine. The crinkles you see around the tag come from me just trying my best to cut a fine line with a razor and steel ruler. The vinyl at that point stretched a little as I applied pressure to the ruler where the vinyl met the tag. So, it did kinda crinkle there. The corner crinkles just happen b/c of the material not being able to fold on itself smoothly. In the photos they show up a ton worse than just looking at it. I wish I would have sent them a larger, higher quality image to put on there, the edges around the image itself would have turned out a lot sharper I think. Kinda hard to tell it though in the photos.

Yea, that was an image I made for myself while messing with Paint Shop Pro. Bold text, a chrome effect, smoke effect, then blue colorizing. I just like it, thats all.

    Thanks for the feedback!

I would imagine it looks better in person! Glad you're happy with it! I am thinking about getting a Call of Duty 4 one for my Vaio from Skinit! Hopefully it will come out good. Thank everything my brother used to lay vinyl for a living... cause I would probably screw it up!

Only thing that will be rough for me is in the center, the vinyl has to go around the word "Vaio"... so that should be interesting.

I am sending them a 1400x1060 image... you think that will be high enough quality? I would imagine they would pull it into Photoshop and resize the dpi. Only my guess...

you still can fix those corners just take them out a little bit and apply some heat with a blow dryer.

LOL, nah, thats my name ;)

Definately, I think that would be a good size to offer crisp edges and clean quality.

Ditto to SteveMB. Skin is removable and leaves no residue. If you remove to help reapply and align, be careful not to pull it off at too sharp of angle, it will leave a crease after you fold it back.

Also, it comes rold up in a tube, it will help to lay it underneath something heavy and flat to unroll it. Makes it easier to apply. For me, it worked best to apply and align perfectly at the hinges first, then work my way smothing it the rest of the way out. Hopefully those suggestions may help someone later on.

    Thanks.
