Hi all, although not exactly for this forum decided to ask here - I need to replace blower fan of a single slot quadro. The original fan is 65mm diameter and about 15mm height (depends from where to where measuring it) with tripod mounting. I can buy a replacement AVC fan but it's crappy in general. I've looked for a blower type fan for general purpose but can't find suitable. Now I'm look for a suitable laptop fan as they are all blower type and there should be much more choices but there are no dimensions listed for them. If anyone knows a suitable laptop fan please tell me make and model and I'll see if I can convert the mounting.

Looking from the top, the blades have to rotate clockwise. 65mm diameter, no more than 15mm heright. Original fan is 4 wire 12v but i suppose that I can use 5v fan with some resistor. I think that newer designs are better in term of airflow (the more the blades, the better), noise and bearing.

Would be interested in what comes of this, as I have 15mm of space available in the ODD bay of my Ranger and having an oversized fan would make for an interesting mod

I think @j95 might have done a similar project if I am not mistaken?

I've found som e suitable fans, but for most of them I can't find info about airflow and so on, those are all 12v:
    ADDA AD6512HB-T0B or TB3
    AVC BASA0715B2U
    AVC BA07015B12U-S01

DELTA BFB0712HB-XXX - can be found in different fin types/designs and housings, as well as amperage from 0.33 to 1.1 - about 18CFM for the 1.1A. I found some 1A variant for Apple, which housing and rotation direction fits my needs and maybe I'll buy one of them. I think that 1A should have enough CFM but maybe it will blow some fuse because the current fan is 0.5A.

Sunon also has some nice maglev fans, but only the OEM for Apple imac mini has air exhaust to the right and they are low amperage, meaning low rpm, airflow etc.

I was looking for some fan from the newer Quadro models, but no luck. All sellers are offering old stuff for older gen GPUs.
