I'm getting my laptop painted, it's comletely disassembled and off to the painter. I've removed the fugly round Dell logo in the middle of the lid, the one that is approximately 1.5 - 2" in diameter. I need an idea of what to replace this with. Has anyone done anything different with thier emblem/symbol? I've already contacted Dell to see if they can get me a replacement (bent the original taking it off), but they only ship with the complete lid and I don't feel like purchasing another whole lid, it defeats the purpose of me getting it all painted. Any ideas welcome, if you have pics, please post them also. Thanks peoples.

    what do you like??

    whats the paint scheme?

Car hood ornament. Embossed image that goes with the paintjob (ie:dragon head for dragon paint). None - smoothed and painted over.

That would be pretty cool to smooth it out and paint over it. Would be pretty slick!

Well, it's being painted for free, so I can't complain. I believe my to-be father in law will be going with a shade of red. He's been painting cars for over 30 years, and is quite the artisan. I told him to have fun with it. The scheme will be all one color, except for the black bottom, everything else will be some shade of red. I just need to see some ideas of what to cover the hole with or fill it in with in regards to some sort of emblem/symbol. I've already given him the parts so I can't have him fill in the hole becase he's already started the sanding and primer.

A car emblem would be cool, and so would any other circle type emblem that would completely cover the round circle hole in the middle. I need something that will not come off and will stay on for good. Any and all ideas welcome, post pics or links of some ideas if you have them also. TIA.

No worries, I would even consider putting one on there if it would fit. I just don't happen to know where to get one that would fit. At this point, I'm willing to look at about anything that will cover up that hole, anyone got a website or something that I can look at some different selections, having a hard time here. It seems as though the only things on Ebay are sports teams and cars. Thanks.
