Today I received the long waited skins from Schtickers. I must admit the quality is awesome. I bought one for me and two for other friend's laptops. All ran smooth, as instructed by the little piece of paper that came w/ the skin.
The skin was a little too big for my 15.4" Vostro 1500, so it needed some trimming. Nothing hard in this operation. I had to cut 22mm total, so what I did was cut 11mm from the upper part and another 11mm from the bottom. The length was perfect, no adjustment needed.
I will post some new pictures with my friends' laptop, after I put the skin on it.![]()
For now, enjoy mine:

awesome dude I love that skin

ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
thats very nice. how much was it?
-
It cost 19.99$ each. I got free shipping for purchases over 30$
One thing to mention: I think the picture used for this skin was smaller than the size of the skin, because I can see the wobbling lines that are created when you make a picture bigger. I guess they should have started from a bigger picture and make smaller skins, not the other way arround. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
yeah thats a bit silly and kinda ruins it. though the price aint bad, im getting my laptop painted^^ i cant wait, sure £170+ is abit much but still i cant wait to see the finished article
-
Nice skin!
-
-
Not bad, but I like the skin in your first post more... it's much more "sober"... this one's a bit bright. But not bad nonetheless
-
It's for a girl, so it matches her spirit.

I did her laptop too. I cut the Acer logo.
Dell logo was right in the middle and my opinion is that it would've ruin the image. Plus Dell logo was somewhat at the same level with the LCD cover. The Acer was not like this, plus it was in the upper right corner. -
Those are good, makes me consider doing one for my Thinkpad, but I'm not sure if it would look right on the black beauty or not.
-
I had a R61i and if I kept it I would've never put a skin on it. It just doesn't fit on it. Lenovo are too business to wear a skin, in my opinion.
-
-
thats nice...
how does it compare to skinit skins? -
Oo I like that black and white one.
-
is it hard to apply?
i applied a skinit skin i got for free and after 30 mins of applying, i still had bubbles -
I was applying solar film on cars for almost 5 years, so a couple of skins weren't suppose to break me down.
It's easy if you take it slow and start from the right position. It depends on the laptop as well, mostly if it has a logo that's sticking out. -
that was my first experience with applying skins so i guess thats why (im not that patient either)
BTW yay!!! post #1000 -
i always apply these lightly wet. this way if i need to pull them up you can. i did tint for years on cars (i own a car audio shop).. so its the same basic idea.. i also used to wrap interior plastic pieces with films to look like carbon fiber etc...

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Those are good pics.I should get one of those next month.

i ordered 2 schtickers and it has been almost 2 weeks!
does anyone know how long it actually takes for delivery to toronto? i know the site claims 10-14 days for international shipping.
i emailed customer service and they say to let them know if it doesnt come by october 20th... that's too long a wait considering i ordered sept 26. -
Don't know what to say. Maybe you ordered something customized and that's the reason for the delay. Wait until 19-20 Oct. and after that get in touch with them.
-
hmm yeah, im waiting now, dont have much of a choice. i'll email customer service when canadian thanksgiving is over and its still not here. they respond really fast and seem good so far so that's comforting.
-
***. I can't beleive I spent 280+ shipping when I could have went with this for $24.... I might even go with this since I didin't like how the graphics came out.
-
bamboodragon, what happened?
-
They did a good job Paint wise on the lid, but my laptop came back with the HP Quick Launch buttons not working.
Turns out, after I took everything part, they forgot to reconnect the connection to the motherboard.
Also, the left speaker grill they repainted came back to me with a couple of chipped marks.
I think I'm going to file a dispute with my CC company. I want at least $150 back. -
I think you will first need to get that 150$ back from the paint shop and after that file a dispute to your CC company. Otherwise, I don't think you will have any succes.
-
the first one was very nice ..
-
How hard would it be to cut the skin, I want one but I want it to cover the Entire lid thus I would order one larger size
-
It's pretty easy, if you use a good cutter. I just cut them on a glass table.
-
could u please recommend some skins that match my dv5t se ?
thanks in advance
-
Man, it's just a matter of taste. You should be the only one who knows what will fit your laptop, not me.
-
How high of a res/dpi did you have for your custom one?
-
I didn't have a custom one made. I only bought a few from the site, for a 15" laptop.
-
Some of these skins look really nice...too bad for my circular Dell logo right smack in the middle of my lid.
-
I have it too, but I don't see its' inconvenience.
