Well, I have several desktops and lots of fans sitting around, so I thought why notI tested it with my Macbook Pro 17and Asus G51Vx(Specs are in my sig) with 3dmark06
Here it is:![]()
It is made from a desktop PC and 2 120mm fans. I wired them to run off an AC/DC adapter.
Test 1: Macbook on cooler running 3dmark06:![]()
Here's a screen shot of the score and temps:![]()
And now the Macbook not on a cooler:![]()
Here's a screen shot of the score and temp while not on the cooler:![]()
Now for my Asus G51Vx:

Here's it is not on a cooler:![]()
And the screen shot of the score and temps:![]()
Ok, so in the end, it took a few degrees off each component. It also let the Macbooks fans run 450rpm slower and still have a lower GPU temp. Next I should put LED fans in.

moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
If you can take the back cover off the ASUS, you should see way better temps with your cooler.

execution is a bit questionable, but i guess if it works for u.

I have lots of containers laying around.

Ive been thinking of doing something similar to the side panel of one of my cases...making a little laptop cooler...shouldnt be too hard and itll look pretty good too

What is your CPU doing at 99 degrees in the first picture?

-
lol ..so this is where the phrase "tictac cools off my laptop" from
-
What you should try to do is trap the air underneath your laptop. I did this on my laptop cooler and even made some guides around the fan to direct airflow into my laptop vents.
