obviously dell has offered a wide variety of colours on their new notebooks, and i would just like to hear your opinion and what u know about the looks and details of the midnight blue (micro satin) and alpine white(gloss) for the inspiron 1520. thanks

I still have not seen a micro satin in person but... gloss normally tends to show ware and tear much more than matte finishes. Also, personally I just prefer flat finishes, I think they look a little more classy.

I haven't seen the finishes either in person, but I've seen them on TV (The Shopping Channel in Canada). The Alpine White definately looked glossy, similiar to the MacBook white finish. The host described the Micro Satin finishes felt like "Matte finishes." From the television angles, you could also see some fingerprints on the Midnight Blue (that was one of their demostration models), but I think you could wipe them away and it would be fine.

i got the midnight blue... looks very very dark... maybe that's why they call it midnight in the first place.... and its got a rubbery feel to it.. won't attract so many fingerprints like maybe a glossy one would...
Micro satin or golss finish
