    Hey guys,

    Just wondered if the Dell XPS M1730 lid would fit on an M170 as I think the M1730 lids look cooler and want to fit one to replace my M170s.

    Yes, it would. Pretty much all of those 17" Dells have compatible cosmetics.

    The M170 and M1730 lids are NOT compatible. Matter of fact, no parts between the M170 and M1730 are compatible. If you are talking about the M170 and the M1710, then yes, the lids are compatible.

    ichime is right, I had the wrong computer in my mind when I was thinking of the M1730.. I was visualizing an M1710.
