I'm thinking about trying this, but I think it might actually make it louder. Any input?

    What notebook is it?

You could buy a replacement off e-bay for relatively low cost.

As the others had sait - liquid in a keyboard is not a good idea.

You could theoreticaly remove the space bar and oil any moving pieces without any liquid "runnign away".
However this will only work on a squeaky space bar.

My SZ's keyboard is quite loud - but I like it :D

Edit: what kind of noise is it?
