hI. I have a presario v3000, and I already got a scratch on the pasltic lid..somebody recommended me to use a plastic polisher to avoid the scratches, but I have also read about invisible protectors, I have used skins but I always endup not liking them, I want to keep the original look of the lid, so what do u guys recommend me? should I buy a plastic polish or should I go with some invisible skin?

www.shieldzone.com has something called the InvisibleShield. It's made of the same material they use to coat helicopter blades in the military, so it's really tough. There's YouTubic proof of it. xD Anyway, ShieldZone carries a shield for the v6000, but people have cut skins before. I know all this because I just ordered a Creative Zen Vision: M, and I had to have some protection for it. I found ShieldZone, and I was very impressed. It's completely scratch proof, and best of all, it's barely noticable.

It also has extremely good feedback, due to their free shipping and LIFETIME guarantee of pretection, meaning if your InvisibleShield gets scratched once, they'll replace it free.

    Hope that helps.

thanks for ur reply, i see they dont have one for the v3000 but they do carry one for one of the hp dv2000 series, if i buy that one, i dont think i will have to cut it since the v3000 and the dv2000 have the same size.....I think?

That is true...Never looked in HP for you. Thought of it, though. :D

I've never seen the two side-by-side, but they look similar to me.

Oh. Wait. That;s screen protection I see. Shoot; I overlooked that. Really sorry. I still figure it will cover a great deal of your lid. Is the scratch on the sides of the lid, or is it along the side?

Nope, they make shields for all of it and others for the screen.

    from www.shieldzone.com
"protects the top, the touchpad, and the wrist guards; thus giving you the peace of mind that comes from knowing your laptop is protected. This shield does NOT cover the LCD screen."

Hmmm. In the description it says something about screen protection. Eh. I'm confused. I just found them to protect my Creative Zen. :/

They have protectors for the screen, lid, palms and whatever.....

To find the one that will fit may require a call to them for a custom size or to get one you can trim down.

what about those carbon fiber sheets? R they a good investment? since my v3000 didnt come with the imprint finish I would like to put something on the lid that simulates the carbon fiber finish...will the 15X12 sheet of decalfx.com be enough to fit my laptop or should I get the 15x24 one?
