I am thinking about modding my case to include a temp sensor for monitoring my Raid 0 HD's cause it is not possible to monitor their temperature via software..... I have a good idea of where to place it, how to implement it, and power it but just had a few questions....

First of all, the sensor I am thinking of getting is a cheap/basic sensor: LCD Sensor that I would modify to fit into my Gateway 6860FX case and leech minor power from a usb port.

I plan on splicing the direct wires from the molex connector and solder the wires to a single usb port on the right side of my laptop (that only has a micro usb chip that links with my Logitech nano)....

I would then feed the sensor wire itself to a place inbetween my raid drives to hopefully give me an idea of the temp.....

Question: Is it feasible to solder the wires to a usb without major complications for my laptop? Or is there another location on the mobo that could be leeched upon without causing complications?

If anyone has experience with this type of modding please give me suggestions.... Thanks
