Hi. I have a Asus UL30VT. The keyboard is held by four small spring clips along the top of the top of the keyboard. The second from the left one is broken and doesn't hold down the keyboard. The keyboard is curved slightly upwards, so when I press keys near that clip, it flexes downward more so than other areas of the keyboard, which show very little flex.

I think it might be a bit hard to find a replacement clip , so I think what I'll be doing is using thermal tape under the keyboard to fill the gap.
I live in Canada, so it's a bit hard to find online retailers. I am also in college so I really don't have a lot of time to burn.

What brick and mortar store might carry a thermal tape? Or a 'puffy' double-sided tape? I have a Scotch double sided one but they're as thin as paper and doesn't really help my purposes.

    Thank you

On some ASUS G-series models they come from the factory with double sided tape to cut down on flex. So it's not a bad idea. Any hardware or good pharmacy should have double sided tape, you don't want it too puffy because then the keyboard will bulge. You might be able to stack a couple pieces of your paper thin tape and have it fill enough space.
