After many uses of the laptop I notice it started showing these little spots on the left side of the touchpad, where I mostly have my left hand sitting there. I have cleaned computers before, but I never did any sort of paint job or cosmetic repair on it. I was curious if there was a way to fix this to restore it back to the way it originally looked?

it is a barebones MSI MT70...and i believe scratches is Brushed aluminum, judging by the color the spots.

it looks like dust particles but they are pretty much little scratched spots.

Most likely the paint chipping from the oil on your hands degrading it. I don't know if there is any way to really fix that save for replacing the palmrest.

Oh, I see. My second hand Samsung has the same problem on the sides of the keyboard. Welcome to the "looking for a fine palmrest on ebay" club.
